Welcome to Farmhouse by Design!!

Texas has been home my entire life. From the bluebonnets that blanket the fields each spring to the unbelievable sunsets that paint the sky – Texas truly is something special. It will always have a special place in my heart. Still, I’ve always dreamed of living on a few peaceful acres, complete with a cozy farmhouse and a small garden – a place where time seems to slow down just a bit.

I am a dog mom to two spoiled Golden Retrievers – Aspen and Annie. In the summer of 2020 we traveled just outside of Breckenridge, Colorado to bring home Aspen. I had chosen her name long before I knew she existed – and certainly before realizing she’d be waiting for me in Colorado. A year later, we made the same trip to pick up her sister, Annie – named after Annie’s Song by John Denver, written in Aspen, Colorado. Today, both girls are living their best lives where they love to play, go on road trips and (most of all) nap on the couch.

By day, I’m the Assistant Director of Accounting for our local school district, but home decor, gardening and writing are where my heart finds its creative outlet. I’ve always been drawn to farmhouse style – rustic, simple, and timeless. A blend of old and new, weathered and refined – a style born from simpler times that brings calm and comfort to everyday life.

More than anything, though, my faith in Jesus is the foundation of everything I do. He is my source of peace, purpose, and grace – both in life and in how I create my home. Every room, every project, and every word shared here is a reflection of His goodness and the simple truth that our home can be a place where faith and beauty dwell together.

Now more that ever my home is truly my sanctuary – a place of retreat from the busy, often chaotic world around us. My hope is that Farmhouse by Design inspires you to create that same sense of warmth, peace, and comfort in your own home – a place rooted in faith and designed with grace.
